On the Leap of Faith this Good Friday; Asylum seeker Ellie Kisyombe is in the system of Direct Provision and while not allowed to work is allowed to volunteer and her energy goes into a project called Our Table. For the last five weeks, they’ve operated a pop-up cafe on the grounds of Christ Church Cathedral highlighting the situation for asylum seekers and using food as a way of connecting with others. Ellie talks about her life in direct provision, her faith, and how her political activism resulted in her new life in Ireland.
Also on the programme this week, on Easter Sunday RTE One Television broadcast a new documentary presented by Hugh Bonneville called Jesus: Countdown to Calvary, Bonneville as well as being an actor is also a graduate in Theology from Cambridge University. We hear from the programme’s Director Gerry Hoban and contributor Dr Zuleika Rodgers on six days in the life of Jesus that changed the world.
